Black Sun Empire represent the finest in dark and techy dancefloor drum and bass. Another mouth-watering sampler from the long awaited From The Shadows album. This one kicks off with the awe-inspiring Mindscape remix of «Transmission» which tweaks the original to perfection, keeping the driving neurofunk energy and pumping beats. Next is the Neonlight of «Eraser» which switches things up with psychedelic synths and euphoric sweeps, falling into the drop and adding some chaotic US style sounds to the mix. The Telekinesis remix of «Inpeak» is pure tear out — think relentless beats with an electro edge, and then there is the Jade remix of «Chaingang» which ends the EP with shuffling rhythms and alarm sirens.

This was the closing night, September 4th, 2011 at the Carmel Valley Theatre, Carmel CA. I saw the night before with my parents, with a full ensemble, and decided I needed to come back the next day by myself. Hard to believe Mr. Glass is 74 years old, go Philip.
This video is dedicated to the woman I was dating back in 1985 who suggested we drop acid and watch a movie called Koyaanisqatsi. I've never been the same since. I'm still in love with that woman to this day.

I strongly urge anyone and everyone to watch Philip Glass' masterpiece Koyaanisqatsi, I saw it performed live by Philip with the movie behind him 10 years ago, it was just as mindblowing then. WARNING — PREPARE TO BE DISTURBED:

Опубликовано: 15 мар. 2016 г.Join us live online (BYOB), if you can't make it to The Greene Space to sample some New York City craft beers provided by Transmitter Brewing, Finback Brewery, The Bronx Brewery and Big Alice Brewing while listening to the music of some of the city’s quintessential composers.

WQXR will spotlight the music of Gershwin, Bernstein and Philip Glass, as well as Dvořák, a composer who spent time in the Big Apple. Classical guitarist Pablo Villegas will be on tap to perform Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite and The Naughton sisters will perform pieces by Gershwin for piano four-hands. We’ll also hear Dvořák’s Goin’ Home played by the duo of Di Wu and Adrian Daurov, and pianist Lisa Moore will perform Philip Glass’ Mad Rush.
