Czech of all trades ''Forbidden Society'' is on the verge of a new era. After a long haul of releases, gigs and a consistent output of mixes, he now returns with what he describes as a breakthough work to add to his long list of perfectly mixed efforts.
After delightfully receiving an invitation to play at one of the world's main events in Drum & Bass music called ''Inferno Pirate Station'' in St Petersburg (March 22, 2014) he rapidly switched on the decks to create
a mix that would represent his anticipation for the upcoming event. As motivated as ever Forbidden Society is ready to showcase his signature sound for one of the most exciting moments in his career thusfar.

Pirate Station is the world's biggest drum and bass music festival.It's held every year since 2003, when St. Petersburg held the first event. It has spread to biggest Russian cities (Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Samara etc.) and has also taken place in Estonia and Ukraine, which makes Pirate Station the biggest dance project ever. Almost half a million people visited the festival during these years. The main St. Petersburg show hosts more than 25,000 fans annually. Pirate Station is not just about music — it is a mix of unique performances and special effects united by a concept which changes every year. Опубликовано: 1 мар. 2015 г.For the 14th darkstep session, I decided to make a special mix of Katharsys, one of my favorite darkstep duo. They introduced me to the darker side of drum and bass. This mix contains most of their songs (a few are missing) and they are NOT in order of date/release. I completly made it all by myself and used my imagination for the transitions and combos/double drop. There are also alot of edits, especially at the intros. Enjoy you all. Comments are appreciated! ''Katharsys began in 2001 when Hugo and Tom, start producing their first drum and bass tracks, inspired by the dark grooves and demented beats of artists such as Tech Itch, Dylan, Kemal, Konflict, Photek and Ice Minus to name just a few. After countless hours of waveshaping and savage beat processing, the duo were ready to begin releasing in 2004. Katharsys, from the ancient greek word «catharsys» meaning the emotional cleansing of the audience in relation to drama, is an extreme change in emotion. The main focus of the duo is to create intense sounds which evoked that kind of extreme changes, into electronic music. Producing from darkstep to neurofunk hard drum&bass, Katharsys has reached different labels, such as Habit (US),Guerilla (US), Barcode (UK), Sinuous (UK), and Obscene (UK), and have progressed to playing their hard as balls sets out to fans around Europe.
Katharsys's tunes appear on many dj mixes from Counterstrike, Donny, Dylan, Cooh, Evol Intent, Audio, Dj Hidden, Nanotek, Dean Rodell and Forbidden Society.''

The Two Lone Swordsmen are British house DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall and studio engineer Keith Tenniswood. Formed in early 1996, following the dissolution of Weatherall's influential Sabres of Paradise techno act, the Swordsmen have explored a variety of styles, from electro and 4/4 techno to post punk and downtempo in later years. Originally they released material on the label Emissions Audio Output, run by Weatherall. However, the small nature of the operation limited the duo's success and they subsequently signed to Warp Records, making them labelmates with acts such as Autechre and Boards of Canada, as well as setting up the Rotters Golf Club label for their more dancefloor-friendly output under various other guises.
In 2004 they released From the Double Gone Chapel, exhibiting more of a late 1970s dub and post punk sound than their previous work, influenced heavily by groups like PiL. It was released with the single Sex Beat, a cover of the popular Gun Club song. Their latest album, Wrong Meeting, was released in April 2007, with Wrong Meeting II following a month after. Set solidly in the dub rock vein they explored on From the Double Gone Chapel, the duo venture into sleezy country and LCD Soundsystem-style punk funk disco.
These sets were were originally streamed in real media in the early days of online streaming radio. Unfortunately, you'll have to excuse the poor quality.
