София со своей семьей отправляется в необычное путешествие к Бухте русалок. Там София знакомится с молодой русалочкой по имени Уна. Она помогает Уне освободить плавник из рыболовной сети, а волшебный амулет превращает Софию в русалку. Теперь она может отправиться в путешествие по подводному миру со своей новой подружкой. София узнает, что русалки не доверяют людям и возмущены наличием в бухте плавучего дворца ее семьи. Когда Уну похищает ужасное морское чудовище, София должна освободить ее из плена с помощью принцессы Ариэль и найти способ примирить два королевства.
Маленькая принцесса София живет в сказочно-красивом замке в королевстве Волшебния. Здесь можно прокатиться на летающих лошадях, подружиться с говорящими птицами и кроликами и познакомиться с добрыми феями. Каждый день малышка София ходит в Королевскую Академию, чтобы обучиться разным наукам и искусствам, придворному этикету и хорошим манерам.
