Опубликовано: 27 нояб. 2013 г.Raggacore is a style of music derived from Ragga jungle that somewhat predates breakcore, characterized by ragga and dancehall rhythms and vocals. Its roots can arguably be traced back to jungle producer Remarc, who was one of the first producers to mix ragga and dancehall vocals with chaotic and intricately rearranged break beats. While only a few producers primarily work in the style, it still has a sizable following among breakcore fans. Notable examples of this style include Aaron Spectre, Bong-Ra, Cardopusher, Enduser, FFF, LFO Demon, Renard Queenston, Lemon Drizlay Crew, Istari Lasterfahrer, Shitmat, Venetian Snares, and Stivs from the Life4Land crew.
Bong-Ra, Jason Köhnen's electronic alter ego saw life in 1996. Hailing from The Netherlands, Bong-Ra initially started out as a DJ, but quickly focussed his priority on producing his own music in 1997. Djax Records signed Bong-Ra in 1998, proceeding to release the debut album 'New Millennium Dreadz' and the 12-inch series 'Darkbreaks' Volumes 1 and 2. Bong-Ra at that time was accompanied by MC Guzman on vocals.
In 2001 Clash Records (a hardcore jungle orientated 7-inch label) was set up. In that same year on the 12th of February John Peel invited Bong-Ra to do a 'Peel Session' which was released on UK label Deathsucker Records. Several vinyl releases followed in the period between 2001 and 2003. From 2001 to 2004 the 'Breakcore a Go-Go!' parties were run and organised by FFF and Bong-Ra becoming one of the first (bi) monthly regular Breakcore nights in Europe. 'Bikini Bandits, Kill! Kill! Kill!' the second full length album was released in 2003 on Supertracks Records. This album saw an audiovisual co-operation with US based film company Gyromart. The track '666MPH' was used on the Bikini Bandits DVD and the videoclip to '666MPH' aired on MTV. The Bikini Bandits audiovisual project became an exposition in the Museum of Modern Arts in Arnhem, The Netherlands. That year Bong-Ra also appeared on some of Holland's biggest Festivals: Lowlands, Metropolis and Eurosonic. Also a small UK tour with DJ Scud and Soundmurderer followed.
In 2004 Bong-Ra set up his second label Kriss Records, focussing on edgier breaks (mostly combining metal and breakbeats, releasing amongst others: Drumcorps, Scotch Egg and Venetian Snares). That same year the Center for Electronic Music (CEM) in Amsterdam asked Bong-Ra to produce a special 4 track EP solely using vintage equipment in the CEM studios, resulting in the 'Colony of Electric Machines' EP on the Vynalogica label. The 'Monsters of Mash Up' European Tour in 2005 with Shitmat (UK) and Enduser (USA) and a Japanese Tour with Parasite (UK) was followed by the third full length 'I am the God of Hellfire' released on Very Friendly and Ad Noiseam and the jungle/raggacore CD compilation 'Warrior Sound' on Supertracks (NL). In 2006 a special 4 track remix EP of Venetian Snares' 'Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett' and the debut of Bong-Ra's main side project The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble were released on Planet Mu (UK). The politically charged album 'Soldaat van Oranje' was released on Sublight Records (CAN). Bong-Ra returned for his second Lowlands Festival, becoming one of the highlights of the Festival (according to Dutch magazine OOR).

10. Astrix — Science Is God Astrix's musical agenda is the ultimate clash, where underground vs. mainstream transforms to uplifting Trance composed with sophisticated melodies, a sprinkle of progressive House, and some occasional vocals. This audio clash is where Astrix's music have emerged from & been embraced by hundreds of thousands across so many nations and continents. As an incredibly popular DJ and producer, Avi Shmailov, aka Astrix, always thinks ahead how to tailor his sets and productions for his devoted fans, but not forgetting to please the casual dancers. Astrix needs to connect with everyone in the crowd, those who are unfamiliar with his works and at the same time with his followers throughout the years.
Rewind back to 2002, Astrix is signed to leading label HOMmega and is introduced to the world with his debut album «Eye To Eye». Things started to roll for Avi Shamilov from that point on, the world wide scene fell captivated with his unique, smart melodic style. Touring massively after the «Eye To Eye» album release didn't leave much studio time for Avi, it took two years to write & perfect his 2nd album, «Artcore» which came out in 2004. «Artcore» raised the bar with groundbreaking achievements if in CD sales, tracks used in movies, video games and TV commercials.
Once Astrix's musical sound got familiarized as his trademark, he turned to invest the years after to developing his DJ persona. Compiling & producing for leading brands such as: «Nu-clear Visions of Israel» (Tip/2003), «Psychedelic Academy» (Hit Mania/2005) and «Astrix & Friends» (DJ mag/2007). In 2009 Astrix's label, HOMmega productions, was the first to release an Astrix digital artist album, on a compact stick flash drive format, «One Step Ahead» (HOMmega/2009)
Evolving into one the world known DJ MAG TOP 100 DJs placed Astrix on the roads for an almost nonstop world wide tour. He rocked festivals across the globe including Dance Valley, Tomorrowland, SW4, Creamfileds, Love Parade, UAF, Planeta Atlantida, Triba and headlined nights in the best clubs and venues such as Alexandra Palace, Brixton Academy, Pacha, Ministry of sounds, The City, Volume, Nox and so many more which he visited repeatedly .
Over the last couple of years, studio time was a rare commodity for Avi Shamilov, but never the less he always managed to find the extra hours to work on releasing his 3rd studio album for HOMmega. 'Red Means Distortion' is the result of some very late night sessions, everything to reach the perfection he needed to return back to those who were waiting patiently for his 3rd album.
Starting from August 2010, Astrix is releasing ongoing free download mix sessions under the title «Trance for Nation». As a well known «global trance rocker», stay tuned and expect nothing less then top notch trance productions! https://www.facebook.com/Astrix.Officialhttp://www.twitter.com/AstrixOfficialhttp://www.soundcloud.com/astrix-offi… http://www.youtube.com/ASTRIXtvhttp://dj.beatport.com/astrixhttp://www.justin.tv/astrixlivehttp://followgram.me/astrixofficial…

Full On Fluoro — Volume 4 sees psy trance legend and Perfecto Fluoro regular Liquid Soul take the reigns and deliver a 2 hour mix of epic proportions. After a string of remixes for Fluoro and a killer EP in Have You Ever / Nirvana the time was right to bring in Nicola Capobianco, more commonly known as Liquid Soul to his psy trance brethren, to compile and mix the 4th in the series of the ever successful Full On Fluoro compilations, continuing where Simon Patterson, Yahel and most recently Activa left off. With his signature cross over style that flits between the more melodic and psy trance styles, Liquid Soul carves up a 2 hour storming progression that shows just why we like him so much! Keep your eyes peeled for some tasty exclusives and fluoro corkers from the likes of Ticon, Phaxe, Vini Vici, Subtree, Side Effect, Ace Ventura and of course, Liquid Soul himself!
