After the departure, you slowly reach your cruising speed, represented by the rhythmic pattern of the electronic bassline. The dramatic tones of the strings and the bassline give this track majestic proportions, still growing when the violins play a melody on discreet male chorus.
The tension built in the first half of the track, thanks to all these elements slowly entering one after an other, makes me think that the protagonist of Night Falls is filled with hesitation and regret after he left the Earth. Was it the right choice to jump into this boundless unknown or should have you stayed on your home planet ?
All this hugeness, the stars, the nebulas, the galaxies, it seemed attractive at first, but now that you are launched into the void, you realize that the distance between each celestial bodies is far greater than you thought. This emptiness casts doubt on your decision and makes you look back; but there is nothing, the Earth is already out of sight for a long time.
The turning point is at 3:18, when a regular beat sets some order in the track and your mind while a high-pitched element, souding like a blade sharpened against a rock, marks the beginning of each new rhythmic cycle.
You reasoned and noted that even if you wanted to go back, it was far too late, so you'd better look forward and regain confidence to continue your journey.
All the musical parts playing together, even granting themsleves a plaintive violin melody and a few piano notes, raise Never Leave to a near-epic level, always keeping this incredible sensation of endless distances all around you.
This commands respect to the speck of dust you are next to the stars around you, while the musical theme fades out.
Enjoy folks, and if you feel like it, I'd like you to share your sensations too, here in the comments section or on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/adda.ambient
