Опубликовано: 19 авг. 2012 г.In my opinion, Glue Funk Hits is one of his best. It is something of a landmark release for Aaron «Venetian Snares» Funk when compared to subsequent releases. Released in 2002, it is his first label-released LP in which he would display a particular sonic substance with which he would become associated. Bits of «Amen» and «Think» breaks are sprinkled over distorted supersaw synths, feedback whines and third party samples, at times touched with oscillating flangers and frequency filters, with snare rushes and time stretched percussion samples abounding. In future releases, such as the following year's Chocolate Wheelchair Album (alternately titled Stupid Chocolate Wheelchair), Funk would tone down the harshness and give his tracks a more tangible metronomic meter, but most of the major identifiable traits of a Venetian Snares record first manifested themselves on Glue Funk Hits. Not to say this is a generically uniform record throughout. «Walmer Side» displays glitchcore elements first explored on his previous releases such as printf(«shiver in eternal darkness/n») and Songs About My Cats, while «Dismantling Five Years» is a plaintive atmospheric tune devoid of percussion, and «Banana Seat Girl» sees Funk trying his hand at synthetic Trout Mask Replica-esque free jazz. Certainly a breakcore benchmark and an underrated record from the catalogue of one of the greats.

Опубликовано: 24 дек. 2014 г.A track from Volume 1 of the AnalogueTrash Records Sampler series. Available now via Bandcamp on a pay-what-you-like basis.
AnalogueTrash Records launched in late 2013 on the back of a successful Manchester-based clubbing and live events brand. Set up with the aim of bringing together and supporting artists to release quality electronic music across the length and breadth of the alternative and underground electronic music spectrum, 2014 has seen AnalogueTrash Records go from strength to strength.
To celebrate the first birthday of the label, AnalogueTrash Records has released a free sampler containing 12 tracks representing the diversity of the label’s roster and really showcasing the work of this talented bunch of artists and producers. Do enjoy it, and please do check out the artists’ other releases.
Опубликовано: 29 июл. 2015 г.Eatbrain reach deep into uncharted realms of the sonic universe, with the latest signing to the label coming in the form of the sleek NeuroTech duo Machine Code (Current Value and Dean Rodell). With decades of production experience behind them and an unmatched commitment to experimentation, they’ve applied their knowledge to create a considered and weighty evolution of the Neurofunk sound.
Опубликовано: 3 авг. 2015 г.Machine Code is definitely one of the most skilled duos in the game, but they are probably the #1 most productive pair. Consisting of Dean Rodell (head of Subsistenz) and Current Value (dark DnB pioneer and scene legend for well over a decade), Machine Code has been dishing out quality track after quality track at a very fast rate for years. It should come as no surprise though, seeing as Current Value on his own has put out nine albums so far throughout his career. The Machine Code release gaining hype right now is «Terraform» EP (2015) on Eatbrain, a six-tracker that should definitely not be ignored. This one is the title track and my personal favourite tune on the release.
Weapons Grade is a channel for uploading only the most forward thinking and stomping underground Neurofunk. I will try my best to promote only the truly under-appreciated tunes that go lesser heard. Uploads will probably be daily, or possibly even more frequently. Every track featured here has been purchased from the respective label, and is in 320 kbps (MP3) quality before upload. All artwork in every video is from http://www.wallhaven.cc/ unless otherwise stated! I won't feature any track on this channel that isn't advanced Neurofunk and I will never monetize a video. This channel is purely for your entertainment and discovery, and for my hobby. I hope you guys enjoy thoroughly!
