Forbidden Society TO THE THRESHOLD PROMO MIX
I have been working on this album over the past months, producing all tunes, working on the collaborations & remixes and finding artwork. For this release, I commissioned drawings from Tokyo based Anime artist Kikai, while Kristof of NOSQRL graphics provides artwork for FSRECS, and the cover of this album. I've been testing all those tracks live during my bookings throughout Europe and even got the chance to play them in Tokyo — Japan, and hope you will enjoy them as much as I did over the last months — it's in your hands now.
The album consists of various kinds of music I like and love to procude, crossbreeding Drum & Bass, Drumstep, Electro and Dubstep — yet they are united by one common idea. They seek to push the boundries of heavy sound and are drilled to the maximum of hardness, hence the title: TO THE THRESHOLD. It has spread to biggest Russian cities (Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Samara etc.) and has also taken place in Estonia and Ukraine, which makes Pirate Station the biggest dance project ever. Almost half a million people visited the festival during these years. The main St. Petersburg show hosts more than 25,000 fans annually. Pirate Station is not just about music — it is a mix of unique performances and special effects united by a concept which changes every year. This one kicks off with the awe-inspiring Mindscape remix of «Transmission» which tweaks the original to perfection, keeping the driving neurofunk energy and pumping beats. Next is the Neonlight of «Eraser» which switches things up with psychedelic synths and euphoric sweeps, falling into the drop and adding some chaotic US style sounds to the mix. The Telekinesis remix of «Inpeak» is pure tear out — think relentless beats with an electro edge, and then there is the Jade remix of «Chaingang» which ends the EP with shuffling rhythms and alarm sirens.

Calyx & Teebee are Larry Cons and Torgeir Byrknes. They've been making music as a duo, and as solo artists, since the late nineties.
Labels like Moving Shadow and Metalheadz have put out their music. And their tunes have also popped up on games like Midnight Club and Grand Theft Auto 3.
They signed exclusively to Andy C's Ram Records earlier this year. And they've just released their first album for the label called 'All Or Nothing'.
This excellent Essential Mix features new and classic drum & bass from artists including dBridge, Photek, Wilkinson and Dilinjah. House & techno from Trentemoller, Gui Boratto and Stimming. Hip-hop from the likes of The Roots, J Dilla and Roots Manouva. And even soundtrack music from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Their Essential Mix consists of a real variety of different genres and styles, including drum and bass from dBridge, Photek and Dilinjah, techno from Trentemøller and hip-hop from J Dilla and Roots Manuva. First broadcast on the 8th December 2012 (08/12/12)
