Заградотряд — это те, кто загрождают собой других. Во время одного из сражений, отбивая одну атаку за другой, бойцы заградотряда узнают, что за линией фронта умирает брошенный на произвол судьбы детский дом… Жертвуя собой, задерживая немцев, взрываясь на минах, чтобы обозначить путь детям, гибнут один за другим бойцы заградотряда.
