The Disappearance of Michael Rockefeller

Опубликовано: 10 июл. 2016 г.On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show by talking about two people in Oregon County, Mississippi say they came across an unknown animal that looked like a mix between a dog and a kangaroo. Then, an unusual story about a headless railway conductor seen patrolling a particular section of track looking for his missing head taken from the Chicago Tribune newspaper January 15, 1890. Then, Kit Parker a bio-engineer at Harvard a recently created a small robot stingray that uses real living rat cells. Parker’s robotic stingray is tiny—a bit more than half an inch long—and weighs only 10 grams. But it glides through liquid with the very same undulating motion used by fish like real stingrays and skates. The robot is powered by the contraction of 200,000 genetically engineered rat heart-muscle cells grown on the underside of the bot. Even stranger, Parker’s team developed the robot to follow bright pulses of light, allowing it to smoothly twist and turn through obstacle courses. Then, numerous governments around the world are slowly coping with the idea that the worldwide population has a right to know whether or not we are alone in the universe. In fact, the disclosure movement has never been as strong as it is today with countless Military officers, government officials, and astronauts speaking out about the existence of alien life and Alien spacecraft. Recently the FBI released some of these documents, and whats on them will shock you. After the break Cam brings up one of the strangest missing person stories in recent years. Born in 1938, Michael Clark Rockefeller was the son of New York governor and later Vice President Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller, and was a fourth generation member of the Rockefeller family, one of the richest, most powerful, and influential families in America at the time. Michael had long had a passionate interest in art, especially in primitive and tribal art, and in 1957 helped established the first ever museum solely dedicated to such art, the Museum of Primitive Art, in Manhattan. Rockefeller was also an adventurer at heart, and yearned to travel to faraway lands and meet exotic tribes. It was this profound interest in art and his desire to experience another world that would eventually bring Michael Rockefeller across the world to the remote and little understood, mysterious land of what was then Dutch New Guinea. While exploring in that area he disappeared during an expedition in the Asmat region of southwestern Netherlands New Guinea. In 2014, Carl Hoffman published a book that went into detail about the inquest into his killing, in which villagers and tribal elders admit to Rockefeller being killed after he swam to shore in 1961. Despite these claims, no remains or other proof of his death have ever been discovered. Thanks for listening to Expanded Perspectives. Hecq — Magnetism

Magnetism sounds for me like the last transition before the denouement of Night Falls.

It starts with the static we heard in the end of Giants, representing the passage between the world of the Ancient, out of limits, and your own spiritual way, where you belong. And then, progressively, extended layers of orchestrations succeed each other, such unseizable monoliths of sound answering to each other in long moans.

These parts are supported by dense drones in the background, picturing overall a path of trial, as much physical as mental.

It's hard to breathe, bright lights and deep darkness are alternating, a stellar wind flogs your face. But above all, your memories pass before your eyes all at once, overloading your mind, while the questions asked by the Giants keep repeating themselves: «Are you worth of it? ».

The insurmountable walls of sound seem to slowly fade out in the end of the track, clearing a way to a warmer area; it looks like you are almost getting to the end of your trip.

Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno[1] (born 15 May 1948), commonly known as simply Brian Eno (pronounced /ˈiːnoʊ/), is an English musician, composer, record producer, music theorist and singer, who, as a solo artist, is best known as one of the principal innovators of ambient music.[2]

Eno studied at art school, taking inspiration from minimalist painting, but he had little musical education or playing experience when he joined the band Roxy Music as their keyboards and synthesisers player in the early 1970s. Roxy Music's success in the glam rock scene came quickly, but Eno soon tired of touring, and he left the group after the release of For Your Pleasure (1973), beginning his solo career with Here Come the Warm Jets (1973) and Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) (1974).

Eno extended his reach into more experimental musical styles with (No Pussyfooting) (1973) (a collaboration with Robert Fripp), Another Green World (1975) and Discreet Music (1975). His pioneering efforts at «sonic landscapes» began to consume more of his time beginning with Ambient 1/Music for Airports (1978) and later Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (1983) which was composed for the documentary film For All Mankind. Eno nevertheless continued to sing on some of his records, ranging from Before and After Science (1977) to Another Day on Earth (2005).

Eno's solo work was extremely influential, pioneering ambient and generative music, innovating production techniques, and emphasizing «theory over practice.»[3] He also introduced the concept of chance music to popular audiences partly through collaborations with other musicians.[4] By the end of the 1970s, Eno had worked with David Bowie on the avant-garde «Berlin Trilogy,» helped popularise the American punk rock band Devo and the punk-influenced «No Wave» genre, and had begun to work frequently with Harold Budd, John Cale, Cluster, Robert Fripp and David Byrne, with whom he produced the influential My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981). He produced three albums by Talking Heads, including Remain in Light (1980), produced seven albums for U2, including The Joshua Tree (1987), and worked on records by James, Laurie Anderson, Coldplay, Paul Simon, and Slowdive, among others.

As an artist, Brian Eno pursues ventures in parallel to his music career: art installations, a newspaper column in The Observer, and «Oblique Strategies» (written with Peter Schmidt), a deck of cards wherein each card has a cryptic remark or random insight meant to resolve a dilemma. He continues to collaborate with other musicians, produce records, release his own music, and write.

Originally intended to be titled «Stupid Chocolate Wheelchair», Venetian Snares's second album of 2003 follows up on the previous year's Higgins Ultra Low Track Glue Funk Hits 1972-2006 in what would prove on future releases to be a more conventional fashion for the prolific producer. Funk puts on the map his bizarre and eclectic sampling tendencies, with an X-Ray Spex sample, an elusive Britney Spears sample, soundbites from The Love Bug, a Mötley Crüe remix, and a rendition of the Sesame Street theme song using a snare rush for an instrument. Yeah give this album a listen, it's great.
