Starfire Tor on Time Slips

Whitley and Anne had just such an experience in Starfire's presence, which she then methodically and skillfully proved really had happened.

Now that there may be a show about what happened to us, Whitley and Starfire go deeper into the experience, and discuss the startling reality that we are all actually much more «loose» in time than we realize. We are programmed not to notice ourselves slipping around in time.

That can change. All you have to do is make yourself aware of things you normally filter out. This program will help you do just that!

Hecq — Magnetism

Magnetism sounds for me like the last transition before the denouement of Night Falls.

It starts with the static we heard in the end of Giants, representing the passage between the world of the Ancient, out of limits, and your own spiritual way, where you belong. And then, progressively, extended layers of orchestrations succeed each other, such unseizable monoliths of sound answering to each other in long moans.

These parts are supported by dense drones in the background, picturing overall a path of trial, as much physical as mental.

It's hard to breathe, bright lights and deep darkness are alternating, a stellar wind flogs your face. But above all, your memories pass before your eyes all at once, overloading your mind, while the questions asked by the Giants keep repeating themselves: «Are you worth of it? ».

The insurmountable walls of sound seem to slowly fade out in the end of the track, clearing a way to a warmer area; it looks like you are almost getting to the end of your trip.

South London has become an endless wellspring of creativity. Our very own Bradley Zero continues to make things happen with the vinyl-only debauchery of Rhythm Section, and just around the corner 22a Records are turning their penchant for half-slung beats and soul-flecked rhythms into a full blown movement.

Henry Wu is a member of the latter making steadfast advances with his output. Rewind back to last February's delectable two-tracker for Natural Complexion and the back-to-back Jean Bassa cut for home stable 22a as evidence.

«Just Negotiate» is one of five groove-inducing jams from the Negotiate EP, housed by Alex Nut's HoTep imprint and out on February 16th. Powered by Simeon Jones' lush vocal sways, it teeters gracefully between the crevices of soul and synth-oozing funk. Groove on.
